Angel Planet Foods produces healthy, vegetarian, and plant-based dinner products that are good for the body, the mind, and the environment. Our products are sold at 2-4 farmers' markets in Northern New Jersey depending on the seasons.  We are looking to grow our company together with candidates who have long-term interests in reducing global meat consumption, building local communities, and aiding environmental sustainability.

Chef
Chef/ Culinary Artist
(Vegetarian and Planet-Based Cuisines, Salary Competitive)

 

We are looking for a talented and creative chef who can help the company create plant-based products on an ongoing basis. A professional degree in culinary art is desired. 


A qualified candidate should be familiar with a wide variety of ingredients and authentic vegetarian cuisines from around the world, particularly from Asia. The goal of our products is to provide consumers with tasty food and to reduce meat consumption simultaneously.  The candidate should have good knowledge of the textures, nutritional benefits and compatibility of a variety of plant based products and spices.  Willingness to experiment and create unique recipes is strongly encouraged.  

Market Manager 
(Hourly rate $15-$20)
The candidate should feel comfortable initiating conversations with customers and selling Angel Planet Foods' products.  Market managers are required to drive and pick up the products from the central kitchen in East Hanover NJ in the mornings of farmers' markets days, work on Saturdays or Sundays 7am - 2pm. Responsibilities also include setting up a sales station at the farmers' markets with a 10x10 canopy. Qualified candidates have long-term growth opportunities with the company. In addition to an hourly wage, qualified candidates are also paid a percentage of the sales proceeds. 
Line Cook
(Hourly rate $15)
A qualified candidate should have at least 1 year of experience in the food industry, and long-term interests in a culinary career, particularly in the vegetarian and plant-based food industry and Asian cuisines. Our central kitchen is in East Hanover, NJ. The candidate is required to work in the central kitchen to prepare food for farmers markets on a weekly basis. The candidate has long term growth opportunities with the company and can become a kitchen manager and independently making products with a team. In addition to being a cook/chef, the candidate can also be a market manager at the farmers market on the weekend. Additional sales commissions are available if the candidate also participates as a market sales manager.
