Founded in September of 2020, Angel Planet Foods has a small yet steadily growing team of dedicated individuals that take pride in developing, cooking, and selling delicious, healthy, all natural plant-based food across North Jersey. Each with their own unique backgrounds and set of skills, they work cohesively to bring you the best quality of product and customer service they can offer.

Zheng Song

Co-Founder 

Zheng Song co-founded Angel Planet Foods in September of 2020 to pursue a dream of owning a plant-based food company inspired by Asian cuisines.  Grew up in Beijing, China, Zheng moved to the United States to obtain an undergraduate degree at the University of Indiana.  Afterwards, she earned an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Zheng spent over 20 years in investment banking and asset management working in Hong Kong, New York City, and Beijing. Zheng spent 4 years traveling throughout Asia while working in Asia and discovered that Asian cuisines' rich in flavors and unique textures eradicated her desire to eat meat. Inspired by her daughter who chose to become a vegetarian in 2002, Zheng became passionate about bringing high quality plant-based food to American consumers. Since launching the company, she has been developing products with recipe developers, analyzing nutritional values of the products, and building a team to produce consistently high quality products. Now, she proudly introduces Angel Planet Foods products at various farmers' markets across North Jersey, and formulates meal plans to grow Angel Planet Foods into a fast growing company that will benefit both the consumers' demand for plant-based products and the planet for the future ahead.

Nick Decker

Co-Founder

Nick Decker has over 30 years of entrepreneurial and financial industries experience. He has lived in and travelled in Asia for four years. His experience in Asia was formative in regard to the need to increase support for an environmentally sustainable future. Nick is a co-founder of Angel Planet Foods and was instrumental in acquiring the central kitchen for the company and is in charge of the company's finance and general operations. Prior, he has worked at JP Morgan Chase in New York, as well as with Deloitte. In addition to the finance expertise Nick brings to Angel Planet Foods, he also ensures that all the technical aspects of the kitchen and production run smoothly. His first experience with vegetarian living was in the 1990's and he has observed the innovations in the food industry and would like to be part of plant-based food industry revolution. Nick earned his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Albany.

Caitlin Lonergan

Sales and Marketing Associate

Caitlin has been working with Angel Planet Foods since March of 2020. Prior to working here, Caitlin grew up in a small town in Connecticut, and went on to earn a Bachelors of Science from Loyola University Maryland where she studied Art and Biology. Her passion for Asian food began as she traveled Southeast Asia, working as a primary school teacher and living in Bangkok, Thailand. Before that, she worked in social justice and dedicated years to community service and advocating for more ethical policies. At Angel Planet Foods, Caitlin handles customer service, marketing, sales, social media, selling at various farmers' markets, retail relations, and inventory management. She helped launch Angel Planet Food's first meal plan and has been a huge part in building the brand appearance. She's passionate about offering delicious and healthy food to customers, while ensuring that Angel Planet Foods is a pioneer of innovative plant-based food and sustainability in the food industry.

Vivian Liu

Kitchen Manager

Vivian Liu is from Chendu in the Sichuan Province of China and was previously a finance manager. At Angel Planet Foods, Vivian manages the kitchen and ensures that the food production is flawless each week. Not only is she an expert in Asian cuisine, but she is very detail-oriented to ensure quality. Her exact measurements and calculated methods of cooking produce consistent batches of product and also pave the way to the development of new and exciting dishes. Vivian is passionate about bringing innovative plant-based food to consumers while also certifying that the food is authentic to our brand and Asian cuisine.
